The revival of Cadillac’s image, which emphasizes performance and driving fun, is being achieved by placing the brand’s V badge on most models, according to the brand.
The brand’s newest car to receive the badge is the latest addition? The Optiq-V 2026 Cadillac, a performance version of the entry-level compact electric SUV that has an upgraded chassis and more power.

As a result, the car should be fast, maneuverable, and fun, thanks to the mission of switching track technology into everyday vehicles for a boost in driving performance and control. One has to work hard to deserve this badge. Among the current cars is the smart CT4-V and the powerful CT5-V, as well as the top-selling Escalade-V. The first electric vehicle to carry the V badge is the Lyriq-V, which was unveiled earlier this year.
How Many Horsepower and Torque?
The Optiq-V promises a more thrilling driving experience, boasting a 0–60 mph time that’s 3.5 seconds quicker than the standard Optiq—making the Velocity Max variant significantly more agile and responsive on the road.
Chief engineer John Cockburn says it’s largely due to the compact shape, but mainly thanks to its dual motors that make 519 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. The AWD model has an 85-kWh battery, and the company claims a range of up to 275 miles. Though the Extreme has an impressive 321-mile range, the regular Optiq with its 300 horses and 354 torque units goes 302 miles. In summary, I’m glad that the EV gives more power and only loses a bit of range.
Both the Optiq-V and Lyriq-V use the same motors, but the smaller 10 modules of the former are needed since the other uses a larger battery and a larger wheelbase.
Active torque vectoring on the front and rear axles plus V-mode are among the special features for the V-Series, which affects the way the car steers, accelerates, dampens, and produces a unique sound. This speaker comes with distinctive sounds and can also be switched to stealth mode for convenience to people living nearby. V-Mode lets you have launch control and also includes Competitive mode, which adjusts the car’s stability and traction for better and more entertaining drifting.
To handle like a sports car, the Optiq-V has a flexible suspension system and you can fit standard or performance tires made for the car’s design. The majority of the SUV’s driving tests have been conducted on winding roads like Angela’s Crest and the Tail of the Dragon.
Continuous damping control is available from ZF, while brakes are also from Brembo and you can have them in blue or red.

Opting for a Slim Body
Getting the V badge is not only about the way you look; it involves more than that. The Optiq-V is designed to fit lower and looks meaner compared to Acura’s older sedans. Hoon Kim, head of exterior design, explained that the exterior was formed to support the car’s performance, its aerodynamics, and a lower stance. The designers set up air outlets in the lower parts to improve temperatures. Most of the front surface was restyled by adding the V signature diamond mesh and enhancing air flow. A one-of-a-kind pattern and the manufacturer’s logo near the headlight can be seen.
The new Optiq-V is available in two exterior shades and a black roof to make its top even more intimidating. Inside and out there are blue design features, plus optional blue seatbelts and seatbacks. Both interior colors are either black and blue or white and blue. The carbon fiber package for the rear spoiler and lower valance is a good option.
Super Cruise driver assistance, a mobile-like version of Android OS, a gigantic display, and a powerful AKG stereo with Dolby Atmos sound are provided with the SUV.
So, the 2026 Optiq-V is the first Cadillac ever to include a standard NACS charger for both superchargers and most EV fast-charging stations.
Significant Upgrade Over the Previous Model
With the 2026 Cadillac Optiq-V, the company leads the way in electric performance and shows a big improvement from its previous model. Cadillac plans to boost the performance of its electric cars by assigning the V-Series name to them. The Optiq-V combines luxury, athletic design, and advanced technology. Both the impressive design and advanced parts in the Optiq-V are made to ensure you can find the balance between speed and comfort.
The cabin gives drivers a perfect mix of luxurious materials and today’s technology, showing Cadillac’s wish to create a new standard for modern luxury EVs. By using the V-Series approach on an electric car, Optiq shows that Cadillac is leaning more towards performance across its electrical range. Cadillac is sure that this new release will demonstrate that it can compete in the premium performance segment while also embracing electrification.

How Much Money Will You Have to Spend on the Cadillac Optiq-V?
Production for the Optiq-V will start in fall and it will have a starting retail price of $68,795. You will be able to find the Dacia model in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Middle East, Israel, and Japan.
If the pattern of V-Series sales is anything to go by, the performance variant should have a rate of 10 percent or less. Could Blackwing get even darker and tougher in the future? According to Lead Development Engineer Alex Doss, I can’t add more, apart from noting the Optiq-V meets up to its name.
It is thought that the Optiq-V will contribute to Cadillac’s upward sales trend and help the company start 2025 with strong sales, having gained 23 percent in the previous quarter in the U.S. As new models are released, they will only benefit the company and EVs are recording strong conquest rates: 81 percent for the Lyriq and 77 percent for the Optiq, according to Brad Franz, Global Marketing Director for Cadillac. As Tesla customers desert the brand, Cadillac’s plan is flawless, and the XT4-V now gives Tesla Model Y Performance shoppers who want something different a good option.
